SecureKey has been a long-standing advocate for trust, interoperability and the advancement of Canadians’ digital identities. The digital identity evolution that was gradually advancing prior to 2020 exponentially accelerated amid the global pandemic for the public, government and organizations. The need for safe and secure online processes has become more important than ever as we look to the post-pandemic landscape and how technology will remain a critical part of our everyday lives.
These principles and ideas are shared by the Good Health Pass Collaborative. This open, inclusive initiative brings together leading organizations from the technology, health and travel sectors to create a blueprint for interoperable digital health pass systems which would ultimately build a safe path to restore international travel and restart the global economy. We are proud to say that we have joined the collaboration.
SecureKey’s role and contribution as a leading provider of identity authentication and solutions is important for our common goal of providing digital health credentials that can be used across borders. With different countries and organizations creating their own solutions for vaccine passports and similar credentials, it is important these digital identity solutions have interoperability with one another and across geographic borders.
We are excited to collaborate with our peers and other industries to together improve the digital identity landscape for Canadians and all consumers. Reducing the potential for fraud, preventing the misuse of personal health data and how services interact with others globally are big challenges, but ones we are proud to take on as a leading identity and authentication provider.
SecureKey also joined Trust over IP Foundation, which is a project critical to the success of the initiative and hosted by the Linux Foundation to enable the trustworthy exchange and verification of data over the internet while establishing common standards. This will help us and other organizations collaborate when it comes to the technical and organizational interoperability required for digital health pass systems.
Verified.Me has been part of the healthcare digital identity landscape for years. It has helped patients verify their identities and get safe and convenient access to their personal health information without having to visit a clinic in-person or wait for their doctors to call to receive results. The Good Health Pass Collaborative is an important step for SecureKey as we look to the post-pandemic landscape and how important cross-industry collaboration will be to help build a safe path to restore international travel and restart the global economy through digital identities. We look forward to working with other leading organizations in the initiative to help improve the ways the public interacts with health services across geographic borders.
