While the role of government arguably hasn't changed much in the past decade, the way it serves people has. Citizens expect that they can access their federal information through online channels, and countries must change how they meet their people's needs. 

To address the complexity and security issues inherent to the digital landscape and identity management, SecureKey will be holding a presentation during the GTEC 2013 conference. Kirk Fergusson, vice president of public sector solutions at SecureKey, will discuss "Leveraging the 'Network Effect' to Enable eGovernment." The session will focus on how governments can increase the convenience and security of their citizens' credentials through the EMV chip-enabled cards already used by financial institutions. 

The benefits of EMV chips to eGovernment is but one of the topics GTEC 2013 will cover, with the event covering the way technology is being integrated or changing government services. More than 7,000 participants are expected at the event, which will be held between Oct. 7 to 10.
