Reimagining Identity and Re-Intermediating with Consumers Through Blockchain
The current model for managing identity is quickly becoming unsustainable – costly, disjointed and all too fallible. But that’s about to change. SecureKey, IBM and TD Bank, amongst other partners, are developing next generation privacy-enhancing services to enable consumers to conveniently and privately assert identity information using trusted providers, such as banks, telcos and governments, helping them connect to critical online services with a digital credential they already have and trust, while ensuring that information is only ever shared with explicit user consent.
Utilizing cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, consumers will soon have the ability to prove they are who they say they are, in person and online, with high trust and scalability. This digital identity and attribute sharing network will allow for the exchange of information, all the while ensuring no data is visible to the operator; that there is no central database or honeypot; that there is no central point of failure; that providers and receivers don’t know where information is going to or coming from through a triple-blind privacy approach; and that users are not being – and cannot be – tracked.
This session will focus on:
- How blockchain technologies like Hyperledger Fabric are being applied to solve many of the problems associated with digital identity
- How leading banks like TD Bank are working with major providers like IBM and Fintech innovators like SecureKey to find ways to re-intermediate in the lives of their customers
- Why financial institutions are best positioned to benefit from playing a vital role in growing identity ecosystems
- The opportunity for partnerships designed to remove friction and improve privacy for the consumer, while increase security, surety and cost savings for businesses

Webinar: Embracing a Federated Consumer Identity Model to Increase Security and User Trust
December 11, 2013
Imagine if every store you went into today required you to create a username and password, simply to buy something. That is the Internet model today, and it has to change.
Many organizations that offer web or mobile services today require customers to create specific accounts with usernames and passwords to access their services. If you are a high-touch site, then most users have a better chance at remembering their passwords. If you are a low-touch site, over 60% of your users forget their passwords.
Join our SecureKey webinar featuring guest speaker, Eve Maler from Forrester Research, Inc., on December 11th at 12:00 p.m. EST to learn why:
- Users struggle with login issues while site operators struggle with low business assurance and high service costs
- Social sign-in hints at a solution, but fails at security and privacy
- Sites can solve this by accepting trusted reusable identities
- There is an inevitable choice: Should you rely on a trusted reusable Identity your customer already has? Or become a trusted identity provider to strengthen and monetize your customer relationship?
After the webinar all attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the Thought Leadership paper Embracing a Federated Consumer Identity Model to Increase Security and User Trust, a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of SecureKey Technologies.
